Band Update #3

April 6, 2020

I hope everyone is doing well and adjusting to our new way of living.  It looks like remote learning is here to stay.  More details below.  Here are this week’s official cancellations: all parade practices in May, spring concert, Memorial Day Parade.  I have not heard a formal announcement about graduation but the band will not be able to perform on May 29.

NorthWood HS will remain closed for the remainder of 2019/2020 school year.  We will continue with remote learning on M,W,F.  Classes will begin to move forward into new material and grades after spring break. Please continue to watch the website for lessons and assignments under the REMOTE LEARNING TAB at the top of the page.

Fall registration deadline was yesterday THURSDAY, APRIL 2.  If you missed it, please be sure to register online today.  The commitment form and deposit are not due until May 4.  Since we will not be meeting as a class on May 4, information about how to turn these items in will be shared after spring break.

COLORGUARD and PERCUSSION should register online but not pay their deposit nor hand in their commitment form until after tryouts.  Mr. Grabill and Stephanie will be in touch with these sections once an audition plan has been created.  Since our participation in the Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled, band staff will create an audition plan in the near future.

The next band parent meeting is scheduled for Apr 16 at 7p.  The executive officers are looking into holding that meeting via Zoom.  Watch for details.

Delivery of the Little Caesars pizza order has been delayed until mid-May.  It is anyone’s guess what the social distancing rules will be in May.  The deliver might need to be delayed further.  We will know more at the end of April.

Is still on!  Check the online calendar for details.  Guard Camp will be added before tryouts begin.

Red Regiment’s performance at all spring parades is now cancelled.
