Band Update #2

MArch 30, 2020

I hope everyone is doing well and adjusting to our new way of living.  A lot has changed in the past week.  Here are several updates about several band items.

Please continue to monitor the remote learning tab at the top of the website.  Students are beginning to dwindle in participation.  Keep pressing forward.

Fall registration deadline is approaching on THURSDAY, APRIL 2.  Please be sure to register online.  The commitment form and deposit are not due until May 4.  COLORGUARD and PERCUSSION should register online but not pay their deposit nor hand in their commitment form until after tryouts.  Mr. Grabill and Stephanie will be in touch with these sections ounce an audition plan has been created.  Right now we are in a waiting pattern for potential Memorial Day parade.

Here are updated dates.

  • Online Registration Due – APRIL 2
  • Commitment Form And Deposit Due – MAY 4

We were already in a difficult situation with band camp for next fall.  There is one less week available between the end of the fair and the start of school.   After careful consideration of several scheduling options, we will need to have some practices during fair week.   We will follow the same plan Concord uses every year during the fair.  Students that need to show an animal will go show their animal(s) and then return to practice as quickly as they can.  The practices during fair week will run from 8 a.m.-noon only.  While this is not ideal, there aren’t any other great alternatives for this year.

There is no new information for spring parades.  The Maple Syrup Festival has been rescheduled for May but, nevertheless, Red Regiment will not perform.

Be safe and watch for future band updates.
