Remote Learning Option

Red Regiment Any family that plans to utilize the remote learning option to please notify Mr. Criss asap.   Rehearsal on Mon., July 20 will determine how many spots that will be created in the fall program.  Students enrolled in remote learning will remain a “member of the band” but not perform with the band in the fall.

  • Students enrolled in remote learning will follow a parallel track of assignments as those students in class.  Assignments will usually be one memorized quiz per week.   Unfortunately, there isn’t a feasible path for a remote learning student to be prepared to perform live with the band.  The drill charts, counts and spacing are all learned together as a team within the actual physical space of the field.

STUDENTS ABSENT FROM THE JULY 20 REHEARSAL MAY NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE 2020 SHOW.

This will have a huge impact on how the music and marching drill are designed.  Please let Mr. Criss know.

Band Fees

There have a couple questions about band fee refunds.  There isn’t any information to announce.  Please keep in mind the band will still incur the expenses of show design, staff, choreography, show shirts, awards, among others.  The expenses we will NOT incur this fall are contest registration for local events.  BOA registration fees (the largest registration by far – $800) is due each spring and was already paid.  There is no information from BOA if that will be refunded.

Our goal is to keep marching band as typical as possible for the students to grow musically but also to hopefully be a beacon of normalcy as we return to our school routines.  Things will be different and Red Regiment will save resources where possible but nevertheless we hope to offer students “the good ole days” as best we can.
